Lhokseumawe – The Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK) at UIN Sultanah Nahrasiyah Lhokseumawe hosted the International Visiting Professor program on August 8, 2025 at the 3rd Floor Tarbiyah Hall. Carrying the theme “Shaping Educators through Knowledge, Leadership, and Cultural Wisdom”, the event aimed to broaden academic horizons and build international networks in the field of education.

The event was officially opened by the Dean of FTIK, Dr. Jumat Barus, S.S., M.S., accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Institutional Development, Dr. Susi Yusrianti, M.Pd. The keynote speaker, Dr. K.J. Varghese, MA, Ph.D., B.Ed., PGDELT, PGDJ, delivered a presentation on strengthening the role of educators in leadership and cultural preservation. The session was moderated by Dr. Nurul Fadhillah, M.Hum.

In his remarks, Dr. Jumat Barus stated that the program reflects FTIK’s commitment to fostering opportunities for global collaboration. “We hope this program serves as a gateway for educators and students to learn directly from international practitioners and expand their perspectives in education,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr. K.J. Varghese emphasized the importance of teachers in expanding students’ global outlook. “Good education is the one that brings the world into the classroom,” he stated. He also highlighted that educators should not only deliver lessons but also inspire students to understand the world from multiple perspectives.

The event, held from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB, was attended by lecturers, students, and invited guests. Through this program, FTIK UIN Sultanah Nahrasiyah Lhokseumawe aims to strengthen international collaboration and enhance the quality of education for future educators

Lhokseumawe – Suasana pantai Ujong Blang pada 9 Agustus 2025 berubah menjadi ruang belajar terbuka yang sarat inspirasi. Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan (FTIK) UIN Sultanah Nahrasiyah sukses menyelenggarakan International Outing Class dengan tema “Future Educators Beyond Borders: Expanding Horizons Through Cross-Culture and Global Learning.”

Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh mahasiswa dan dosen dari dalam maupun luar UIN Sultanah Nahrasiyah, menghadirkan perpaduan unik antara pembelajaran akademik dan nuansa alami pantai. Dr. K.J Vargheese dari Christ Colleges, Irinjalakuda, India menjadi narasumber utama, memandu diskusi hangat dan sesi tanya jawab yang membahas pentingnya keterbukaan terhadap keberagaman budaya serta kemampuan berpikir lintas batas bagi calon pendidik masa depan.

Wakil Dekan III, Dr. Nurul Fadhillah, S.Pd., M.Hum, menekankan bahwa kegiatan ini menjadi sarana efektif untuk melatih keterampilan komunikasi lintas budaya secara langsung di ruang interaksi nyata. “Melalui kegiatan seperti ini, mahasiswa belajar bukan hanya dari teori, tetapi juga dari pengalaman hidup yang membuka wawasan mereka terhadap dunia,” ujarnya.

Menariknya, dalam kesempatan tersebut juga dibuka peluang bagi mahasiswa dan dosen untuk mengikuti student exchange ke Christ College di India. Sebagaimana FTIK menerima kehadiran Dr. K.J. Varghese dengan hangat, pihak Christ College juga menantikan dan siap menyambut kehadiran mahasiswa maupun dosen dari UIN Sultanah Nahrasiyah untuk belajar dan berbagi pengalaman di lingkungan akademik mereka.
