EDSA and HMJ MPI IAIN Lhokseumawe Forge Intellectual Collaboration through “Corner Discussion” Program
EDSA, May 14, 2025 — In a spirit of strengthening cross-department collaboration and enhancing students’ critical literacy, the English Department Student Association (EDSA) and the Islamic Education Management Student Association (HMJ MPI) of IAIN Lhokseumawe have officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to launch the “Corner Discussion” program.
The signing ceremony took place at the FTIK Student Organization Secretariat of IAIN Lhokseumawe on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The agreement was signed directly by EDSA Chairman Ahmad Mulia Panigoran Siregar and HMJ MPI Chairman M. Aditya Prayoga.
The Corner Discussion program is designed as an open and academic discussion platform involving students from various departments. The activities will include Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) on current issues in the fields of social affairs, education, culture, and language. Both parties agreed to form a joint organizing team across student associations to implement the program collectively and collaboratively.
“Through this program, we aim to foster a culture of healthy discourse, critical thinking, and mutual respect across perspectives,” said Ahmad.
Echoing this, Aditya added, “This is a tangible step toward building an inclusive academic ecosystem and promoting inter-student collaboration.”
This collaboration is set to run for the 2025–2026 period and may be extended upon mutual agreement. The initiative is expected to serve as a model for student organization collaboration in developing intellectual capacity and professionalism among students at IAIN Lhokseumawe.
