Lhokseumawe, July 18, 2025 – The Mastery of English Debate and Analysis (MEDAN) community, in collaboration with the English Department Student Association (EDSA) and the Language Development Unit (UPT Bahasa) of UIN Sultanah Nahrasiyah, successfully conducted a series of activities under the 2025 Edupreneurship program. This initiative was designed to equip students with essential skills in English debating, critical thinking, and the ability to respond to global issues with structured arguments.

The program consisted of five intensive sessions that began in early June 2025. From introducing the British Parliamentary debate format to practicing impromptu debates, participants experienced a dynamic and comprehensive learning process. Activities were held both online via Google Meet and offline at the UPT Bahasa laboratory, providing a balance between accessibility and hands-on experience.

Fadhlur Rahman, M.AppLing., Head of UPT Bahasa, expressed his appreciation for the initiative. "We truly value this collaboration because debating does more than improve language skills. It builds students' confidence, resilience, and reflection. UPT Bahasa is committed to supporting similar self-development programs in the future," he stated.

The course lecturer for Edupreneurship, Ainol Mardiah, M.TESOL., also praised the program. "This activity perfectly represents the core values of edupreneurship. The students are not only planning ideas but also executing them. Through this process, they develop leadership, creativity, and a collaborative mindset, which are essential for any edupreneur," she said.

Ahmad Mulia Panigoran Siregar, President of EDSA, also shared his views on the joint effort. "We believe that when student organizations and academic units collaborate, the impact becomes stronger and more meaningful. MEDAN has shown how student initiatives can create inclusive and inspiring learning spaces," he explained.

The final session served as a platform for feedback and reflection. Participants shared their insights and personal growth after going through the series of activities. Many expressed improvement in public speaking, teamwork, and argumentation skills.

With the theme “Great Debate, Smart Solutions,” this collaboration between MEDAN, EDSA, and UPT Bahasa demonstrated how educational programs can shape students to become competent, innovative, and adaptive individuals. Edupreneurship is not just a concept; it is a concrete step toward preparing future leaders through education and collaboration.
